The “Package Koufukuron” project was launched in 2008 at the initiative of Mr. Takashi Kanome, a leading package designer (who passed away in 2017). Mr. Kanome called on young in-house package designers (in-house designers who belong to a company such as a manufacturer) to participate in the exhibition in the hope that they would “give vent to their creativity that they might not normally be able to show in their work within the company. At that time, Mr. Kaname appointed me, Shinya Nakajima, a commercial director, as the exhibition director. I thought it would be a shame to end the exhibition with a mere free-form presentation, so I set the theme of “Package Koufukuron”. With the great mission of exploring the relationship between design and human happiness, we have been holding exhibitions where we set a theme for each exhibition and exhibit works that provide answers to that theme.

Since then, the members have been presenting their unique works in “Package Koufukuron,” while at the same time responding to various issues through design in their daily work. There is a “me” for the exhibition and a “me” for work. Which is the real “me”? Fourteen years have passed since the exhibition started, and I have decided to focus on the two “Myself ”s within me again. Has one “self” influenced the other “self” in any way or not? Is this “self” dragging that “self” down, or is this “self” supporting that “self”?

Is “myself” happy now? What is the happiness of “myself”? Package Koufukuron “Myself and Myself” I hope you can feel the thoughts of various “Myself”.
